Obituary of Joan Hayes

JOAN M. HAYES 1933 – 2007 CANANDAIGUA: Joan M. Hayes passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the home of her daughter, Marie. She is predeceased by her loving husband of fifty-four years, Martin W. Hayes, Jr. in April 2006. Joan was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on September 9, 1933 to the late Anna Marie (Langley) and Arnold Washington Yerry. Joan enjoyed volunteering at the DAV Auxiliary #4, the American Legion Post 256, the Veteran's Club, the Canandaigua V.A. and the VFW in Murrells Inlet. She was interested in making crafts and crocheting. Her favorite pastime was being an active member of Taking Off Pounds Sensibly. Joan will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends. She is survived by three daughters Marie (Thomas) Schudde of Canandaigua, Karen (James) Hayes of Kennewick, WA and Magdalena (Martin) Hayes-Fox of Canandaigua; her grandchildren Kelly (Lester, Jr.) Whitley of Kennewick, WA, Meghan Schudde of Clifton Park, NY, Dana Walker of Kennewick, WA, Lauren Schudde of Madison, WI and Rhianna Hayes of Canandaigua and her great grandchildren Jalen Whitley, Diego Walker and Jule Whitley all of Kennewick, WA. There will be no prior calling hours. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, 95 North Main Street, Canandaigua, Monday (Apr. 2, 2007) morning at 10:00. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Volunteer Services, c/o Canandaigua Veterans Medical Center, 400 Fort Hill Ave., Canandaigua, NY 14424.
