Obituary of K. Norman Holcomb

K. Norman Holcomb Loving husband, father, grandfather Canandaigua, NY Norm Holcomb, 74, former Bloomfield resident, passed away June 22, 2010 at Serenity House, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Canandaigua to the late Kenneth and Mildred Holcomb, he attended Canandaigua Academy. Proudly retiring from Eastman Kodak with 34 years of service, Norm began operating Holcomb Excavating & Paving. He was also well known as a school bus driver for both the Canandaigua and Bloomfield School Districts. He was a 45 year member and Chaplain of the Victor Mason’s Milnor Lodge No. 139 and was a patron of the Gah-yan-duk chapter of the Eastern Star. Bowling, golf, and vacationing were among Norm’s leisure time activities, but he will be remembered most for the enjoyment he received when spending time with his family and many friends. Norm is survived by his devoted wife Judy, daughter; Janice (John) Hudson, son; Carl (Laurene) Holcomb, step-son; Brett (Lisa) Bacon, grandchildren; Rebecca, Stephanie, Jennifer and Ethan Hudson, Karla, Clinton and Lucas (Beth) Holcomb and McKenna Bacon, great granddaughters; Julia and Natalie Baldwin. Norm is also survived by two sisters; Joyce (Richard) Van Opdorp, Judy (Mike) Carson, brother; Peter (Diane) Holcomb, sister-in-law; Nancy (Roy) Beecher, father-in-law; Donald Baier and several nieces and nephews. An 11:00 a.m. Masonic service will be held Monday June 28, followed by a celebration of Norm’s life at the First Congregational Church, 58 North Main St. Canandaigua. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
