Obituary of Rita Morticelli

RITA MANGIONE MORTICELLI 1916-2010 CANANDAIGUA: Rita Morticelli, 94, of Holiday Harbour, died Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Thompson Hospital. Mrs. Morticelli was born in Rochester on May 26, 1916 to the late Gaspare and Giussepina Polizzi Mangione. She was a graduate of East High and had been a secretary at Friden/Singer for many years. She had also been a crossing guard for the Rochester School District and a member of the Gates Democratic Club and the Gates Garden Club. She was also a member of the DelRay Beach Florida Elks Lodge and St. Mary’s Church. The widow of Angelo Morticelli, who died in 1999, she is survived by her daughter Geraldine (Terry) Lesniak, Canandaigua; her son Peter Morticelli, Rochester, three grandchildren Brooke (Kiley) Smith, Canandaigua, Jonathan Morticelli, Manlius and Nicholas Morticelli, Rochester, her great granddaughter Ryanne Smith, Canandaigua and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Jerre and Frank Mangione and her sister Susan D’Amico. Friends may call at the Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St., Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Rita’s funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Ghost Church, 250 Coldwater Road, Rochester Tuesday morning at 11:00 o’clock and burial will be in Holy Ghost Cemetery.
