Mary Frattare Reed "All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother." (Abraham Lincoln) Canandaigua, NY A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Mary Frattare Reed went to be with the Lord peacefully, surrounded by her children and grandchildren on January 2, 2011 at the age of 86. Mary grew up in the Charlotte area of Rochester and was the fourth of seven siblings. She moved to the Canandaigua area made it her home. A devout catholic, Mary was a longtime parishioner at St. Dominic’s in Shortsville. She was a strong, loving woman who taught her children & her grandchildren to always strive to be their best. She had a positive effect on every life she ever touched. Making her family and everyone blessed to know her. She enjoyed her family's Florida trips & being in the winner circle at Finger Lakes Race Track. Mary is survived by her loving children Alan (Susan) Reed, Michael (Deborah) Reed, Diane Allen, Kathleen (Peter) Procko, Sheila (Christopher) Englehart and daughter-in-law, Lisa Reed; her 15 grandchildren Joshua (Kimberly) Allen, Jeremiah (Robin) Englehart, Adrianne Allen, Angela (Jeremy) Comella Allen, Zachary (Dana) Reed, Austin (Shannon) Reed, Issac Reed, Jesse Englehart, Laura (Kenneth) Burroughs, Christie (Ben Raymo) Englehart, Jacob (Stacey Richards) Allen, Michael A. Reed, Joseph (Ashley Lillie) Englehart, Jeffrey (Trisha Rodney) Englehart and Justin Englehart; and her 16 great grandchildren . She is also survived by her brothers Lawrence Frattare and John (Sally) Frattare, her sister-in-law, Janice Frattare, and many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Leon A. Reed Jr., her son Leon A. Reed III, her parents Lorenzo and Laura Frattare & great granddaughter Catherine Mary Reed. Her sisters Loretta (Ceasar) Palmiere and Jeanne (Jean) Arbeau; her brothers Albert (Irene) Frattare and Robert Frattare; and her son-in-law, Norman Allen. Family and friends may call at Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo Street in Canandaigua, from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m. on Friday January 7. A Catholic funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 8, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 95 North Main Street in Canandaigua with internment immediately following at St. Rose Cemetery in Shortsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Mary’s honor to the Upstate New York Chapter of the Huntington's Disease Society of America, PO Box 25237 Rochester, NY 14625 and to St. Dominic’s Church, 97 West Main Street Shortsville, NY 14548.
