I had Ted as a teacher in 5th and 8th grades at Our Lady of Mercy. He was a big bright spot in my life at a time when there was so much darkness in my home. I'm sorry I never got to tell him this. Even though he was coping with loads of out of control baby boomers, he saw us as individuals and recognized what was special. At the same time, we always knew where he stood. Forever in my ears will ring the words: "Kubiak, shut up or I'll throw you out the window!" God, would I love to say that to some of my students. I'm grateful that he was in my life and terribly sad that I won't get to tell him this. I wish his family love and healing and the comfort that comes from the certainty of knowing he is still with you as an angel upon your shoulder.

Mr Schmidt was one of my all-time favorite teachers. I speak of him every time someone asks about my education, or teachers who made a difference in my life. He was such a great guy and I won't forget him.

Mrs. Schmidt and Family. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mr. Schmidt was one of my teachers at OLM in the mid 70's. He also helped me with my baseball and basketball skills. He always had time for everyone and made you feel like you were important. Although I have not seen him in years I have not forgotten him, and whenever we talk about teachers at OLM his name always came up. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. God Bless

Teddy was my teammate on Mahan's softball team in Brockport. Teddy's brother Tom was with my brother-in-law, Bob Conrad, and Jack Mahan in Florida when they found out. Teddy was one of the nicest guys I ever played ball with. He was not only an incredible player....but also the nicest guy on the team. We will all miss him dearly. I will keep the entire family in my prayers.

A friend of mine said "he went hiking and hiked his way right up to God." Ted was looking forward to this trip with Corey and it must be a comfort knowing he died doing what he wanted to do --spend time with his daughter.
We miss him terribly, especially our Monday morning breakfast with the group and seeing his love for his family and grandchildren. We wish peace and comfort to Mary and the girls especially. May the Lord's comfort be felt by you.

Mrs. Schmidt (Mary) I was sad to learn about Mr. Schmidt's sudden passing. I was his student at Our lady of mercy grammar school, 8th grade graduation class of '75. He was my favorite teacher. He made learning fun especially when it came to subjects I wasn't found of, History and Geography and because of this, I am now an unstoppable force in Trivia Pursuit when answer questions from those categories. :-) Last time I saw Mr. Schmidt I was in my mid 20's, he was doing construction then and working part time for extra money at the gas station in Greece at Dewey and Denise Road. He still remembered me, and told me about his new career and how much he enjoyed it. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Dear Mary, Corey and Jennie:
David are I are deeply saddened to learn of Ted's sudden death. Even though we've been gone from NY almost five years, David and Ted talked quite often on the phone. Just last week, David and I were talking about Ted and Corey's upcoming plans to walk the Appalachian Trail.
Ted was a class act--a good father and husband and a very good friend. His strong faith in God was reflected in everything he did. Mary, I know you share that faith, and I pray it will sustain you through these days without him.
As a said before, Ted was a close and dear friend. We will miss him very much.

Mrs.Schmidt and Daughters, My heart is heavy today to learn of the passing of Mr. Schmidt. Though I have not seen him in many years- I know he will be greatly missed. Mr, Schmidt was my 5th and 8th grade teacher at OLM many years ago. He was also my favorite! He was always able to make you laugh and he made each person feel very special. He taught me everything I know about football today- we didn't always agree on who was the best team, but we had alot of fun trying to figure it out. How about his motorcyle days- he took me for a ride one day- what fun! He wwas a kind and generous man. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. May he have many heavenly strolls with his daughter. God Bless

Mrs. Schmidt (because thats what you will always be to me!!!), Jenny, Corey, and family:
My heart just aches for you. Mr Schmidt was such a special friend to our family. Dad will especially miss his friendship. I have so many fond memories of him using his dry sense of humor to lighten the moment, either in the 6th grade math class I had with him, or when I would never credit anyone with an error at the softball games keeping score! I still have no idea how to call those! He never made you feel stupid or embarrassed, would just make me giggle a lot! I am praying for each of you in this time, and just want to picture Annie and him walking arm and arm looking over each of you! God Bless!
