Obituary of Richard Rivet
Richard Allen Rivet
Canandaigua, NY
Richard A. Rivet, 79, of Seneca Drive, passed away March 17, 2011 at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center.
Born in Ogdensburg, NY, to the late Edgar and Mae (Farley) Rivet, Dick served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Following his enlistment, Dick married Dorothy Albro on July 10, 1954 and began a career as a Psychiatric Nursing Technician at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center. He also enjoyed his employment at Sonnenburg Gardens as a Security Officer. During his time spent away from work Dick loved golfing, bowling, coaching, and woodworking.
Dick is survived by three sons; Michael (Lori) A. Rivet of Canandaigua, Terry (Dawn) S. Rivet of Farmington, David (Amy) R. Rivet of Twinsburg, OH; grandchildren, Nicole Brink, Alycia Rivet, Stephanie Rivet, Allison Rivet, Emily Rivet, Samantha Rivet, Zoe Rivet; and a sister, Barbara (Joe) Grizzutto of Ogdensburg, NY.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy, and three siblings, Edward Rivet, Dorothy Maneely and Viola Puccio.
Friends are invited to call Monday, March 21 from 7-9 pm at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 1:00 pm funeral service will be held Tuesday March 22 at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Canandaiguas Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial donations in Dicks name be made to Serenity House, 1278 Brace Road, Victor, NY 14564.
