Once a week I would take my two oldest girls -- quite little then -- out to eat at Burger King in Canandaigua and without fail we would meet up with Vern and Kate. I can remember loving the idea that this Grandpa wanted one-on-one time with his granddaughter. He so obviously adored her and she reciprocated his feelings. It was so very sweet to witness and one of the things I looked forward to on those weekly Burger King days. He was a loving grandpa, no doubt!
