SHIRLEY A. WELLS CANANDAIGUA: Shirley Wells, 76, the only child of Margaret “Peg” Sidell Norris and step-father Charles Norris died August 12, 2008. She was the widow of Francis “Mac” Wells. Shirley leaves behind her companion of many years L. Ronald Edwards, her son Brian and daughter-in-law Erica Wells, her grandchildren Ken and Gabrielle, her great granddaughter Alexis and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley would most likely be remembered serving coffee, lunches and wit at Canandaigua’s popular North Main Street establishment, Mac’s Restaurant, which she co-owned with her late husband or at Newberry’s “Five & Dime” downtown. Shirley was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star in which she ascended to District Deputy Grand Matron and was Grand Representative to Maine not to mention a very long stint as Secretary for the local chapter, The order of the Amaranth where she held the position of Royal Matron and The Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Friends may visit Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua, where The Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service Sunday evening at 7:30. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canandaigua Emergency Squad or the Canandaigua Fire Department. “Thanks to all who helped Shirley through her trying times.
