As a child I fondly remember every Saturday night driving from Geneva to Polimeni's Restaurant with my family. My father Russell Gaglianese loved and respected John. In memory of my family I wanted to send my condolences to the Polimeni family. Thank you for allowing us to create such great memories by sharing the gift of great food and the warmth of always making us feel welcomed.

I know you passed some time ago but both you and your wife Shirley are often in my thoughts. I can still hear you saying,"How's yous doing?"at the restaurant and what a joy it was to have both you and your family as my next door neighbors. We all miss you but know you have gone home surrounded by those who loved you as well as those who keep you and your family in our hearts.

I worked for John at the Niagara Grill in the late 50tys playing music. We were known as the "3 rocks" and packed the place each Friday Saturday and Wednesday.
I remember all the brothers worked there, as well as Mumpy.e John was always a gentleman and in the years since would always inquire as to how we all were. I shall miss him alot.

I am truly sadden to learn of John's passing. When it came to local politics, he was a true stand-up kind of guy who told it like it was. One thing I will always remember was his laugh. What that meant to me was you always made your point and it hit home with John. He will be sorely missed.

Mr. Polimeni will always be in our hearts and a part of Canandaigua history. His family restaurant(Polimeni's) made Lakeshore drive come alive, with great food and love of community. And who could forget Carvel's - as kids, we stopped their on our way from Roseland for ice cream cones. It didn't get much better than that, and Mr. Polimeni and his family made it all happen. We will miss him. Our condolences to the John, Sue, and the Polimeni and Rizzo family.
