Obituary of Helen Short

Helen E. Short January 10, 1918 – June 10, 2011 Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Short, 93, of Canandaigua, N.Y. died Friday June 10, 2011 at Universal Health Care in Fletcher, NC. Born in Baldwinsville, NY on January 10, 1918, she was a daughter of the late John and Nellie Group. Mrs. Short loved her church family and was a member of Lifespring Community Church. Helen was active in the churches she attended playing the organ for many years. She had a heart of missions evidenced by her hospitality, prayers and giving. She volunteered as a receptionist at FF Thompson Hospital and at the Canandaigua welcome center. In addition to her parents and siblings she was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Short. Survivors include two sons David Short and wife Mary of Spring Hill, Fl. Steve Short and wife Velda of Etowah, NC, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Helen is rejoicing in heaven with her beloved husband Bob and family and friends who have gone on before. Friends may call Wed. from 10:00 to 12:00 noon. at the Fuller Funeral Home 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua . Followed by a memorial service at 1:00 pm. at the Lifespring Community Church 5026 North Road, Canandaigua .Interment will be in Port Gibson Cemetery at 3 pm. at the Port Gibson Cemetery.
