Obituary of William Kamell M.D.

William Michael Kamell, M.D. April 2, 1945 – October 16, 2008 A Wonderful husband, father, and dear friend to many. Canandaigua NY William Michael Kamell (born Wagdi Maher) was called home to heaven on October 16, 2008. He immigrated to the U.S. from Egypt, graduated from Cornell Medical School, and served in the U.S. Air force as a flight surgeon in Vietnam. He completed his orthopedic residency at Strong Memorial Hospital, and later established Canandaigua Orthopedic Associates and Finger Lakes I.M.E. Associates. Dr Kamell was an active member of the Canandaigua Baptist Church and constantly witnessed to the love and faithfulness of Christ. Bill Kamell is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Sylvia; father, Michael Kamell; brother Ralph (Jocelyne) Kamell; his four children, Lisa (David) Hough, Andrew (Jennifer) Kamell, Sonya (Frank) LoGalbo, Mariam Kamell, and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother, Leila Kamell. On Tuesday and Wednesday (Oct. 21 and 22; from 2-4 pm. and 6-8 pm. the family will receive visitors in their home at 301 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A memorial service will be held Thursday Oct. 23, 7 pm. at Zion Fellowship Church, 5288 Bristol Rd. Canandaigua. Pastor Doug Allen of the Canandaigua Baptist Church will be officiating.
