Obituary of Richard Senglaub
Richard "Dick" Senglaub
CANANDAIGUA Richard "Dick" Senglaub, age 80, of Canandaigua Avenue, died on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at F.F. Thompson Hospital.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ross and Lillian Senglaub; sisters, Grace and Jane; brothers, Robert, James and Edward "Bill"; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Angeline and Thomas Salato.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean; sons, Keith (Michelle) of Oakton, Va., Scott (Vanessa) of Queensbury, N.Y. and Neal (Karen) of Victor; granddaughters, Mary Shannon, Colleen, Alexandra, Kathryn and Emma; and nieces, nephews and family friends.
Dick was born and raised in Canandaigua and graduated from Canandaigua Academy in 1949.
After serving in the U.S. Army, he returned home to begin work as an electrician in the Canandaigua area. He then went on to work in the engineering department at the VA Medical Center for nearly 20 years.
Dick instilled a love of baseball, especially the New York Yankees, in his children and grandchildren. He spent countless hours as a parent and coach on the Little League fields of Canandaigua.
There will be no calling hours. Anyone wishing to visit with the family is welcome at an informal gathering on Sunday, October 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. at American Legion Post 256, 454 N. Main St., Canandaigua.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fuller Funeral Home Inc., Canandaigua.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the volunteer program at the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua.
