Obituary of Florence Tambe

Florence Tambe Loving: mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother Canandaigua NY Florence Tambe passed away on January 3, 2009 in Mission Viejo, California surrounded by her family. She was 88 years old. Florence was born in Rochester, New York on December 16, 1920. In 1940 she married Samuel Tambe. They moved to Canandaigua in 1953. Her husband Samuel predeceased her in 1975. As well as her brothers, Joseph, Christopher and Eugene Amoroso; sisters, Josephine Savino, Angela Salerno and Anna Cianciotto. She leaves behind her children, Sandra Dimas (Bill), Lake Forest, CA, Samuel Tambe, Canandaigua, NY, Paul Marquie (Judy), San Diego, CA and Margaret Maynard, Canandaigua, NY, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Two sisters, Rosemarie DeSanctis (Al), Rochester, NY and Mary Jane Dentino, Paseo Robles, CA; many nieces and nephews; her special friends Annette Catallo and Patrick Daly and numerous extended family members, neighbors and friends. Florence loved spending time with her family and friends. She had many hobbies but her favorites were gardening, canning vegetables, making jams, crocheting and playing cards. One of her most memorable moments was being on the Price Is Right, at the age of 80 and meeting Bob Barker. Florence was very active at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rushville as a member of the parish council, Rosary Society and a Eucharist minister as well as a lifetime member of the Crystal Beach Ladies Auxiliary. Calling hours will be from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday, January 9th at the Fuller Funeral Home, on Buffalo Street in Canandaigua, NY. A funeral mass will be held Sat. 10am. At St. Mary's Church in Rushville. Burial will be in the Overackers Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Florence’s name to the Crystal Beach Fire Deptment.
