Obituary of Howard Gladding

HOWARD GLADDING WW-2 Veteran BRISTOL: Howard Gladding, 85, of County Road 32, died Dec. 15, 2011 at Hospeace House in Naples. Howard was born in the Town of Bristol on June 14, 1926 to the late Marion and Elsie (Treble) Gladding. He was a graduate of St. Lawrence University, Class of 1948. He served with the U.S. Navy during WW-2 in Korea and China aboard the LCS(L)31. He retired in 1986 after 37 years with General Motors, Rochester Products Division where he had been director of sales and marketing. Howard was a member of Canandaigua Lodge 294 F&AM and a member of the American Legion. He played an active leadership role with the Ontario County and Town of Bristol Republican Committee. Survivors include his son Charles Gladding of Canandaigua; his daughter and son-in-law Julie and Tim Searles of Bristol and his brother and sister-in-law Philip and Betty Gladding of Bristol. He was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Gladding. Friends may call at Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the United Church of Bristol, 7177 County Road 2, Bloomfield Tuesday morning at 11:00. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to the United Church of Bristol or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
