ALLYN DANA JOHNSON Loving Son and Brother Former Naples resident, Allyn Dana Johnson, 75, passed away on March 7, at Strong Memorial Hospital. Allyn was born in Canandaigua on May 7, 1936 to Carlton Pitman and Mary Jane Salnave Johnson. He was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, Class of 1954. He served with the U.S. Army in Germany during the 1960s and had been an aide at the Canandaigua V.A. Medical Center for over thirty years. Allyn had a passion for Western memorabelia and maintained a booth at Hanna Junction and The Windmill for many years. He is survived by his mother Mary Jane Salnave Johnson, Canandaigua; his sisters Kathryn Erdle, Canandaigua, Carol (David) Hagadorn, Canandaigua and Zephyrhills, FL and Nancy (Robert) Ellis, Zephyrhills, FL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Carlton Pitman Johnson in 1975 and his cocker spaniel, Taffy, the "love of his life". At Allyn's request there will be no prior calling hours. Graveside services will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery at a time to be announced. Allyn's family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at Strong Memorial Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit. They suggest that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be directed to the Palliative Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital, 601 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14642 or to Happy Tails Humane Society, 2976 County Road #48, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
