Beloved Child of God
Ruth Dutton Macumber slipped peacefully from this life into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ surrounded by her children on March 16, 2012.
Ruth was born to Frank and Grace (Toombs) Bertron in rural Pennsylvania on May 4, 1923.
Ruths witness of Christs love to her children, Rodney (Melanie) of Canandaigua, NY, Carole (David) Tolbert of Overland Park, KS, and Grace (Luke) Bilodeau of Honeoye Falls.
She was predeceased by sons Dennis and Randy and grandson Dennis A. Dutton. Former daughters-in-law include Isabele Henry and Patti Harrison.
Surviving siblings are Francis (Bernice) Bertron of Coudersport, Pa and Betty Bells, Port Allegany, Pa. She was predeceased by her sisters, Ethel (LeRoy) Gross and Arvilla Denning and brother Donald Bertron.
Ruth was married to the love of her life Irving Rufus Dutton on November 30, 1940 until the time of his passing on January 4, 1980.
Her full-time ministry from that time on was to her family including grandchildren, Dennis (Sharon) Dutton, Tammy (John) Nordstrand, Brian (Wendy) Dutton, Jeremy Dutton, Holli Dutton (Blane Smith), Kristen (Chris) Tierson, Jamie Myer, David (Julie) Tolbert, Jr., James Tolbert, Michael Tolbert, Timothy and Andrew Bilodeau and 15 great-grandchildren.
On May 10, 1997, she married Rev. Edwin Macumber. Edwin passed into glory on May 31, 2000 and shortly after, Ruth moved into Clark Manor House where she continued her ministry of love. In 2008, she moved to MM Ewing Continuing Care Center where she received outstanding care until her passing.
Friends are invited to call Sunday March 18 from 2-5 pm at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 10:30 am funeral service will be held Monday March 19 at Crosswinds Church 3360 Middle Cheshire Rd. Canandaigua. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Remembrances of Ruths legacy of love, kindness, and generosity of spirit may be directed to Crosswinds Wesleyan Church, Wish upon a Star Foundation or MM Ewing Continuing Care Center.
