Obituary of Doris Miller

Doris B. Miller Doris Miller, 85, of Honeoye, NY passed away peacefully at Hospeace House in Naples on Friday, March 16, 2012 with her family surrounding her. Doris was born on April 4, 1926 in Naples, the daughter of Harry E. and Sylvia M. Ball. Doris was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, John M. Miller, Jr. in 2003, her oldest daughter Joan M. Richards in 2006, infant daughter Susan Marie Miller in 1951 and infant great granddaughter Nicole Lee Bruce in 2002, seven sisters and three brothers. Doris is survived by her six children John M. (Carol) Miller, III, Avon, Ken (Betty) Miller, Shelburne, IN, Peggy Bruce,Canandaigua, Cindy (Kirk) Wochner, Bloomfield, Tom (Janet) Miller, Honeoye and Mike (Janice) Miller, Penn Yan. She is also survived by three sisters Anna Marie (Art) Fisher, Mabel Payne and Flora Fisher and numerous nieces and nephews. One of Doris' greatest pleasures was her 38 grandchildren and their spouses as well as her 28 great grandchildren. Family was always special to Doris and John. They loved to have the family at their house on Honeoye Lake on weekends all year round. Many great memories were made during those years as well as preceding years. Doris also liked to sew and was an avid quilter and a member of the Lake to Lake Quilt Guild. Over the years she made a number of quilts for the grandchildren and great grandchildren all of which are cherished by them. She also liked to garden and was often complimented on her flower garden. After moving to Honeoye in 1964, both Doris and John were active in the Richmond Fire Department making many friends in the surrounding area. Doris was also a sales representative for Sarah Coventry Jewelry in the late 1960s and also worked for Singer Sewing Company at Eastview Mall and Seneca Gorham Security. Calling hours will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, at Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St., Canandaiuga. There will also be viewing from 1:00 p.m., Thursday, prior to the 2:00 p.m. funeral service at the funeral home. A reception will be held at the Honeoye Fire House following services.
