Obituary of Michael Hood

Michael Anthony Hood Canandaigua-Michael A. Hood, 36, passed away suddenly in the early morning hours of Friday, April 27, 2012. Michael was born on January 21, 1976 in Clifton Springs. He was a 1995 graduate of Canandaigua Academy and Wayne-Finger Lakes Boces Auto Mechanics program. He had a passion for auto mechanics and spent many hours rebuilding cars. He loved riding his motorcycle. He was an avid pool player and enjoyed playing darts. Michael was a very kind and compassionate person; he never thought twice about helping others, from all walks of life, at anytime. What Michael held closest to his heart was his family. He loved family activities, especially taking walks with his children and spending time with his many nieces and nephews. Michael is survived by his 14 year-old daughter Lindsey and 5 year-old son Ryan. His parents, William and Patricia Hood: Brother, Christopher J. Hood, Sister, Heather M. Lyon and husband Donald: nephews Anthony, Aric and niece Ashley, Brother Jason Hood: nieces Emily and Jackie, Brother William Hood, Jr. and wife Denise, niece Brittney, nephew Nathan, niece Eve, nephew Eli, Sister Melissa J. Hood: nephew Ethan, niece Talana and nephew Atreyu, as well as several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Michael was also survived by his paternal grandmother Nancy E.H. Bowman. He is predeceased by paternal grandfather Alton Bowman and maternal grandparents Milton and Carolyn Minns. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. funeral service at Onanda Park West Lake Rd., Canandaigua. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations to be placed towards funeral expenses, any and all remaining funds will be contributed to a trust fund for Michael’s children.
