Obituary of Charles Barber
CHARLES W. BARBER
CANANDAIGUA: Charles Barber, 81, of Clark St., died at the Canandaigua V.A. Medical Center on the Fourth of July.
Chuck was born in Canandaigua on Feb. 28, 1931 to the late Henry and Rhea Harter Barber. He attended Canandaigua Schools and served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He had worked for the NYS Highway Department and later retired from Gleason Works after 34 years as a machinist. He was a member of the American Legion.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 57 years Mildred Barber of Canandaigua; two daughters Deborah (Todd) Lowney and Linda (Robert) Joslyn both of Canandaigua; two grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers Elton Barber and Jerry (Betty) Barber both of Canandaigua; his sisters-in-law Dorothy Cherry of Canandaigua and Pat Barber of Virginia; his brother-in-law Butch (Maryann) Strong of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews and his fishing buddies Joel and Pete Stitt.
Friends may call at Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock. Burial will be in Boughton Hill Cemetery.
