Obituary of Ruth Erway

Ruth K. Erway 1917 – 2009 RUSHVILLE: Ruth Erway, 91, passed away Wednesday, Mar. 11, 2009 at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home. Ruth was born in Rochester to the late Amil and Della Keppler and was a graduate of Franklin High School. Mrs. Erway and her late husband owned and operated the Shurfine Foods store in Rushville for many years and she also worked at Rochester Products during WW II. She was a member of the Canandaigua Baptist Church. Survivors include her children Sally (Ed) Eshleman, Jill Shattuck and Jim (Suzanne) Erway and her grandchildren David, Ann and John Eshleman, Jason and Aaron Shattuck and Elizabeth, Catherine and Ethan Erway. Her husband, Ralph, died in 2003. There will be no prior calling hours. Funeral services will be Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the Canandaigua Baptist Church, 5026 North Road, Canandaigua. Burial will be in Overackers Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Canandaigua Baptist Church, 5026 North Road, Canandaigua, NY 14424 or to Letourneau Christian Camp, 4950 County Road 11, Rushville, NY 14544.
