Obituary of Owen Bailey

Owen D. Bailey Canandaigua: Owen Douglass Bailey, of Ferris Hills, passed away on December 15, 2012 in Canandaigua, N.Y. Owen was born March 27, 1921 in Watertown, NY; the son of Raymond and Altha Bailey. He married Joyce L. Peters in Hope Presbyterian Church on February 12, 1944 in Watertown. Owen was a caring and supportive husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and Uncle. He loved and was kind to others and was loved in return by his family and friends of all ages. Owen was predeceased by Joyce, his loving wife of 66 years. He is survived by sons, Robert (Mary), Douglass (Janet); daughter, Sue (Steve) Porath, loving grandchildren, Carrie (Tom) Frost, Erin (Mike) Dolen, Jessica (Joshua) Kaplan, Robert (Noralee) Bailey, and Kevin (Kim) Bailey; great–grandchildren, Clay Bailey, Lane Bailey, Kole Bailey, Anna Frost, Aidan Frost , Julia Kaplan, Jackson Dolen and Emma Dolen. Owen and Joyce raised their family in New York Mills, NY where Owen worked for many years as the Regional Manager for Addressograph Multigraph (AM International). They retired to St. Petersburg, Florida where they spent many wonderful years. Joyce and Owen moved to Canandaigua after summering here to be closer to their family. The family would like to thank all those who provided Owen with much loving care and support, but especially the Canandaigua VA Hospital and Staff, the Ontario-Yates Hospice, and the loving aides Diana, Kris and Gill, who so loving cared and supported him and us. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held at a future date. Arrangements are under the care of Fuller Funeral Home Inc. Canandaigua. In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Owen’s name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
