Obituary of Richard Strickland

Richard G. Strickland Canandaigua- Richard Strickland, Rossier Rd. resident, passed away January 7, 2013 at Strong Memorial Hospital. Born in Syracuse, Richard lived a long full life filled with adventures from his naval days; to the days he spent in college where he attended Syracuse and Maryland Universities. After graduating, Richard went on to work with IBM, then as his father before him he started his own Buick, Pontiac car dealership located in Canandaigua from 1964 to 1993. He is predeceased by his wife, Mary Claire; daughter, Cynthia; father, Gerald; and mother, Edna. Richard is survived by his brother, Wendall; sister, Jeanie; his two sons, Gerald and Kirk (Ronda) Strickland; daughter, Julie Strickland; six grandchildren, Carrie, Matthew, Christy, Steven, Amanda and Troy; four great-grandchildren, Callie, Dillon, Katlyn and Emily; Beloved partner, Judy Dean; and her family,Theresa, Jimmy, Julie, David, Alexandra and Isabella. Friends may call Saturday January 12 from 5-7 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 7 p.m. funeral service will follow at the funeral home.
