Obituary of James Haight

James L. Haight Canandaigua- James Haight, 70, of County Rd. 17, passed away February 11, 2013 at his home with his loving companion of 33 years, Shirley Reifsteck and family. Jim retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years as a mail clerk. He was a member of the Canandaigua Moose Club and Canandaigua Masonic Lodge. Jim served as an EMT with the Canandaigua Emergency Squad and a lead scuba diver with the Canandaigua Police Dept. He also served as Fire Chief for the Erina Hose Company. Jim enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and being a pit crew member for his brother, Big John Haight’s, antique midget race car. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Allen Lynn) Haight; Kathleen (Chad) Summers; step-daughter, Robin Bennett; step-son, Ronald (Casandra) Stringham; eight grandchildren and four great-grandsons; brother, Robert (Wanda) Haight; sisters, Anne (Dean) Wells, Sandra (Anna May Cooper) Haight, Mary (Roy) Russell; and several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his daughter, Laurie Ann Haight; brother, Big John Haight; and parents, Henry and Anne Haight. Friends may call Tuesday, February 19, from 1-2:30 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 3 p.m. memorial mass will follow at St. Mary’s Church 95 N. Main St. Canandaigua.
