Obituary of John Fennell

John Thomas (Jack) Fennell 1920 – 2009 Canandaigua NY. John Thomas (Jack) Fennell died Saturday evening, May 2, 2009 with his family by his side in Canandaigua, NY. He Was 89. Jack was born January 13, 1920, in Canandaigua, NY to John and Kathryn (Flynn) Fennell. He graduated from Canandaigua Academy. Jack joined the United States Army-Air Force in 1942 where he served in World War II in Europe as an aircraft control operator until 1946. Shortly upon his return from the war, he met and married Kathryn (Cotter) Fennell on November 30, 1946. Jack spent 42 years with Ritter Company in Rochester, NY. Jack returned to Canandaigua in 2005. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Kathryn; his children Kathie (Sandy) Watson, Jean (Gregory) MacKay, and James (Jill) Fennell; Grandchildren Brian (Jennifer) Riley, Thomas (Kristen) Riley, Jaime (Larry) Arthur, Kathryn Fennell, Wendy (Mark) Warters, Shelly (Anthony) Nicoletta; and four great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by brothers Robert, James, and William Fennell; and sister, Mary Elizabeth Fennell. The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful staff at Ontario County Health Facility for taking exceptional care of Jack/Dad/Grandpa during his stay at the facility. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Mary’s Church in Canandaigua, NY on Wednesday, May 6th at 10 am.
