Obituary of Rocco Catalfamo

Rocco J Catalfamo Canandaigua- Rocco J. Catalfamo, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at F.F. Thompson Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Rocco served with the US Army during World War II, in China, Burma and India, and visited its memorial in Washington DC courtesy of Honor Flight. Rocco was an active member of St. Mary’s Church, a lifetime member of the Elks and Moose Clubs, the American Legion, and VFW. The owner of Rocky’s Café since 1965, He was a sponsor of several local sports teams. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Anne; sons, James (Julia), of Fairport, Daniel and Mark (Valerie), of Canandaigua; four grandchildren, Rocco (Amanda), Courtenay (Jamie LeGrett), Samuel, and Joseph; one great-grandchild, Dominick. Rocco is also survived by sister, Tina Catalfamo; brother-in-law, Nick Valvano Sr.; sisters-in-law, Joyce Catalfamo (AZ), Vilma Catalfamo (CA), Viola DeMare and Sarah Capriotti, both of East Rochester; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rocco was predeceased by parents, Vincenzo and Carmella (Ceravolo) Catalfamo; sister, Mamie Valvano; and brothers, Santo, Joseph, Frank, and James Catalfamo. Friends may call Thursday May 30 from 3-7 pm at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 10 am funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday May 31 at St. Mary’s Church.
