My deepest condolences to Ed's family. My only connection to Ed was through his work at Ontario County Tax Mapping. I don't know exactly when the counties began tax maps, but in my first introduction to them they were an emerging art. Over the years they became more and more reliable. As many times, and there were many, as I turned to Ed he responded with consummate professionalism, courtesy and serious dedication to the task.
I knew nothing about his personal life, but the beautiful remembrances his family have written in his obituary are not surprising to me. One who dealt with him had to know that there was much substance to the man.
I feel a loss at his passing, genuinely; but also gratitude to have been the beneficiary of a very small part of his life.
