Obituary of JoAnne Berg
JoAnne (Lacognato) Berg, 62, a resident of Tucson, Arizona, and originally from Canandaigua, New York, passed away as a result of a tragic motor vehicle accident on May 20, 2017. She and her husband, David Berg, were fatally struck by another vehicle.
JoAnne is survived by her children, Jason Kazmark of Florence, SC, Jeremy (Keri) Stahlman, Shane (Vanessa) Stahlman, Angelica (Abel Contreras) Stahlman and Rena Rivera, all of Tucson, Arizona, ten grandchildren, her mother, Theresa P. Lacognato, her sisters Sandra Shenkman, Mary Beth (Michael) McWilliams, and Michele (Robert) Wistner; all of Canandaigua; brother Bernard (Glenda) Lacognato, of Farmington, brother Michael (Kristin) Lacognato of Granger, IN; mother-in-law, Olga Berg, two stepchildren, Noah and Katrina Berg all of Tucson, Arizona, several extended family members, and her childhood best friend, MaryAnn (LeGrett) Hagen of Manchester. She was predeceased by her father, Bernard Lacognato in 1977.
JoAnne was born on February 10, 1955 and moved from Canandaigua, New York to Tucson, Arizona in 1977. She attended St. Mary's School and was a 1973 graduate of Canandaigua Academy. JoAnne worked for the Ontario County Family Court system prior to moving to Arizona. JoAnne met her husband David at Fry's Food and Drug in Tucson, where she worked for 20 years.
JoAnne was a kind and gentle soul who was devoted to her husband and children. She enjoyed watching sports with David, especially the Chicago Cubs and spending time with her family.
Her Canandaigua family would like to express their sincerest thanks to all those who have supported them during this very difficult time.
A memorial service will be held on June 24, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 95 North Main Street, Canandaigua, NY.
