CANANDAIGUA - Bill Sherry, a longtime resident of Canandaigua, passed away peacefully at home on June 22, 2017, at the age of 87.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Colleen (Donald) Brown, Maura Sherry-Hallstead and Anne (Kevin) Olvaney; son, Paul (Jackie) Sherry; daughter-in-law, Diana Sherry; grandchildren, James (Courtney) Altavela, William Hallstead, Hannah and Celia Sherry and Sean and Patrick Olvany; team of caring home health aides who took such wonderful care of him; and close-knit group of lifelong friends and neighbors.
He was recently predeceased by Jean Sherry, his wife of 64 years; and Stephen Sherry, his eldest son.
Bill was an Eagle Scout and a 1948 graduate of Canandaigua Academy and Morrisville College. He was in the insurance and real estate industry throughout his career and was active in many community organizations. Bill was quiet, strong and giving. He believed anything worth doing is worth doing right.
Friends are invited to call on Sunday, June 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home Inc., 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 26, at noon at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
