Obituary of William F. Frank

William Frederick Frank (Bill), born in Irondequoit, NY passed away Thursday at the Living Center in Geneva, NY where he had resided since April of this year after recovering from pneumonia. He lived locally since 2011 at Thompson Apartment, 80 Parrish Street Apartments and Horizons.

He is survived by his daughter, Dawn Frank (Tom Affleck), son, William F. Frank Jr. and grandson, Andrew Frank (Greta).   Bill was predeceased by his wives, Lois Stockham Frank and Ruth Watkin Moore and daughter-in-law, Gail Frank.


He graduated from Irondequoit High School and attended University of Albuquerque, and the University of Rochester.   He was drafted into the Army and stationed in Italy, Sicily and Northern Africa. In 2014, Bill was chosen to take the Honor Flight, out of Rochester, to our nation's capital


Bill lived on the West Lake Road in Canandaigua for over 20 years.  He owned and operated Hi-N Corp with plants in Stanley and Retsof until the late 70s. He sold the home in Canandaigua and moved, with his second wife Ruthie, to Harwich, MA where he resided for 25 years.   After a brief stay in NJ with his son, he returned to Canandaigua revisiting many acquaintances from years past.


Bill Frank loved horses.  He owned race horses and had his own stable at Finger Lakes Race Track.  He also went horseback riding, at Liberty Stables, at the age of 93 years young.  He loved Caruso's restaurant, cocktails and enjoyed telling stories and jokes.  His laughter and happy disposition was admired by many. Boating, Golfing, Dancing and Playing Cards kept him busy.  


In accordance with his wishes, he did not want to have any calling hours or a memorial service. Interested parties may donate, in Bill Frank's name to "Happy Tails" at 2976 County Road 48, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
