Obituary of Eleanor R. Stanton

Eleanor Ruth Stanton, 86, passed away peacefully December 21, 2017 at M.M. Ewing Lakeview Avenue in Canandaigua, NY. Ruth was predeceased by Brad, her husband of 63 years and grandson, Matthew Barber in 2005. She is survived by two daughters, Pam (Mark) Colvin; Cynthia Galens; and son, Brad; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Ruth was born in Braddock, PA to George and Emily McNutt. She graduated from graduate Geneseo and taught grade school for several years. In addition, she also worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block. She loved spending time with her family, reading, playing games and baking. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church for many years where she was a Sunday school teacher. She will be missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
