Obituary of Ronald Konitski
Ronald W. Konitski
Canandaigua- Ronald Konitski passed away on March 2, 2018, at Elm Manor Nursing Home.
He is survived by his sister Janice Konitski of Plains, Pennsylvania, and close friends Richard Onze, Andy Yudichak, and Dennis Ford.
Ron was born in Plains, Pennsylvania, and was predeceased by his parents Walter and Stephanie Konitski. Ron, a graduate of King's College, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, began his teaching career at St. Michael's School for Boys in Hoban Heights, Pennsylvania. He taught social studies at the Canandaigua Junior Academy/Middle School for twenty-nine years. He earned a Master of Science in Education and certification as a School Administrator and Supervisor from SUNY Brockport. Ron was a long-standing member of the Canandaigua City Council. He was a key proponent of the Canandaigua Civic Center, receiving the "Good Skate Award." He was also instrumental in reshaping Lake Shore Drive and making improvements to Kershaw Park. Ron served on the Canandaigua Zoning Board of Appeals and was a volunteer for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates.)
A ceremony celebrating Ron's life will be held on Tuesday, April 24 at 4:00 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. Interment will be in Plains, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of cards or flowers, donations in Ron's name may be made to the Canandaigua Emergency Squad, 233 N Pearl St, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
