Obituary Laurie Susan Bansbach-Hockin

Laurie Susan Bansbach-Hockin born October 17, 1969 daughter of Pete and June Gilbert-Bansbach then on July 11, 2018 after a brief illness she went home to be with Lord, while resting in the arms of the man she loved, her life partner Tim Donovan. Laurie was also surrounded by her immediate and extended families, and several friends.

Laurie was raised in Rochester, NY, and to her Brother Andy she was known as “Beebs”. She attended Rochester City Schools and received training as a Nurse’s Aide and Med-Tec. Laure worked for 20-years in Nursing Homes.  She is predeceased by her mom June Gilbert-Bansbach

She is survived by her son Josh Hockin (Abby), her father Pete Bansbach, brother Andrew “Andy” (Theresa) and niece Nichole. We would be remis if we didn’t acknowledge her life partner Tim and his family of Paul & Linda Donovan, his sisters Kelly Paine (Greg), Teresa Hahn, Kait Leno (Chad) who loved her dearly. In addition, she is survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins on the Bansbach side.

Laurie was a giver by nature and this was evident in her employment as a Nurse’s Aide/Med- Tech, aiding senior citizens for The Northfield Enhanced Living Facility located in Fairport, NY. Her natural tendencies to give was so evident when our family needed help Laurie aided Linda with her personal needs.

She loved the outdoors all her life especially fishing and camping which began with her brother and parents at around age 9. Laurie and Tim would hookup the camper and head to Cayuga Lake State Park campgrounds for their annual vacations. Often at night in the summer load up the canoe and head to Hemlock Lake or the Erie Canal for an evening of quiet reflection and fishing. Or they just might sit by the fire at home as a way to relax and communicate.

Friends may call Tuesday July 17, 2018 from 4 pm – 7 pm followed by a memorial service at 7 pm. at the Fuller Funeral Home 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua.
