Obituary of Charles I. Race

Charles Race Jr. Charles Race went to the arms of the Lord on October 18th, 2018. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Irene Race Sr., his brother, Levi Race; his sisters, Gail Sawers, Norma Wyffels, Kathy Young and his first wife, Joan Race. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Nancy Race; his daughters, Bonnie Smithers, Cindy (Phil) Harris and son, Ronald (Sue) Race; brother, Gary (Elsie) Race; grandsons, Daniel Race and Steven Harris; great- grandson, Chase Harris and many nieces and nephews. His beloved cats, Shay, Bucky and Lucky. Charles was employed 43 years at the Finger Lakes Race Track in the track maintenance department. Charles hobbies included collecting light houses and their memorabilia and loved putting jigsaw puzzles together. Friends may call Friday, October 26, from 11-1pm at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 1pm funeral service will follow at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Donations in Charles memory can be to St Mary's in Canandaigua, St Dominic's in Shortsville, Happy Tails. Thank you to the staff at the Wayne County Nursing Home for giving Charles such good care.
