David Leon Johnson

10/31/1959 – 10/27/2018

Canandaigua- David Johnson passed away late Saturday morning, October 27, 2018.

David is survived by his daughter, Leah Johnson-Lee; grandson, Logan Lee; his parents, Leon and Gloria Johnson; his brothers, Guy Johnson and Keith Johnson; sister, Rochelle Johnson-Gray; nieces, Tiffani Johnson and Brandi Johnson; nephew, Karson Johnson and many loving family members and friends.

David was predeceased by his beloved nephew, Jacob Gray.

David was a talented artist and prominent musician, playing lead guitar for many popular local bands.  Living in Canandaigua his entire life, he worked as a pressman for more than 20 years at the Daily Messenger/Messenger Post. After retiring, David volunteered for Gleaners Kitchen at St John’s Episcopal Church.  It is in this work that David often said he found his true purpose in life.   

Friends may call Friday, November 2, from 11am-1pm at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A 1pm funeral service will follow at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gleaner’s Community Kitchen, 183 N. Main St. Canandaigua.
