Obituary of Barbara Baker
Barbara Baker BLOOMFIELD - Barbara Baker, 88, died on Dec. 17, 2018, at Clifton Springs Hospital Nursing Home. A native of Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Mildred (Sundberg) Reid. She was a graduate of Irondequoit High School and Brockport State Teachers College. She taught kindergarten at Bloomfield Central School and retired in 1985. She had taught Sunday school at St. John's Lutheran Church and had been a Girl Scout leader in Irondequoit for a number of years. Barbara was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association, the Bloomfield Doll Club and the American Association of University Women. Survivors include her children, Linda (Rick) Rayburn of Bloomfield, Reid (Margy) Baker of Farmington, Karen Baker (Jon Barnes) of Canandaigua and Cynthia (Jeff) Eddy of Middlesex; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Marvin J. Reid Jr. of Salamanca, N.Y., and Donald (Janet) Reid of Irondequoit. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua, where services will be held at 1 o'clock. Burial will be in the East Bloomfield Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Salvation Army or to a local hospice.
