Obituary of Theresa Mary Kuras
Theresa "Terry" Kuras, age 89, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, Jan 11, 2019, at FF Thompson Hospital.
Theresa was born in Buffalo, NY on Oct 14, 1929, to parents John and Jessie (Jaworowicz) Wassner. She is survived by 7 Children: John Kuras, Rushville, NY, Patricia Martin, Tryon, NC, Catherine (Terry) Howell,Canandaigua, NY, Christine Corriveau, Canandaigua, NY, Teresa Kuras, Mt Morris, NY, Joseph (Lisa) Kuras, Canandaigua, NY, and Donna (Dave) Acker, Canandaigua, NY. She is also survived by 16 Grandchildren and many more Great-Grandchildren.
Theresa is predeceased in death by her parents, a sister, a brother, her husband Stanley "Stan" Joseph Kuras, and grandson Bradley Acker.
Stan and Terry lived and raised their 7 children in Depew, NY before moving to Canandaigua, with all their children in 1969. Terry had various jobs, but her main occupation was devoted and loving wife to Stan, caretaker to her entire family. Terry will be remembered most for her strength in hard times, her dedication to family, her Polish accent, sense of humor, and her love of Bingo, where she made many friends that shared the same interest. Terry will be sincerely missed by all, and we will treasure the wonderful memories she leaves us with.
Family and friends are invited on Wednesday January 16, 2019 to a 11 am Funeral Mass at St Mary's Church, Main St, Canandaigua, NY, followed by the burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pearl St, Canandaigua, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Happiness House, Canandaigua, NY, or a charity of your choice.
