“Grandma Betty”

 

Canandaigua, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by two sons, Stephen of Little Valley, NY and Michael of Canandaigua; two daughters, Deborah Graham of Canandaigua and Alyson (Dan) Pignato of Irondequoit; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Miker) Hill, David (Jackie Salazar) Bartosch, Eric and Ethan Graham, Daniel and Nicholas Pignato; four great-grandchildren, Michael and Emma Hill, Jacob and Emma Bartosch. Also survived by her sister, Mildred (Millie) Clark, honorary granddaughters Sarah Coleates Coats, Stephanie Coleates Hinds and special “niece” Cocoa Walsh Allen. Several other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters, Laura Yerden, Eleanor Rodger, Alice Jorgensen, Roberta (Berta) Moore and brother Richard (Bud) Moore. Betty was born in Canandaigua and was the daughter of Richard and Ethel (Broberg) Moore. She was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy class of 1943. She worked at the American Can Company in Fairport, NY and Alleson of Rochester in Geneva, NY. A long time, very active member of the First United Methodist Church. In 2009 she was honored with special recognition for her involvement with mission’s work through the church and with the United Methodist Women’s group. She was an avid reader, knitter, crocheter, seamstress and baker. She enjoyed doing all types of crafts and spending time with her family. She loved babies and children and in her younger years was a much sought after “babysitter”.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church 100 N Main St. Canandaigua or Disabled American Veterans at www,dav.org. Friends may call Thursday May 9, from 4pm-7pm. at the Fuller Funeral Home 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A Funeral service will be held Friday May 10, at 10am. at the First United Methodist Church in Canandaigua.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
