Obituary of James H. Bellis

James (Jim) H. Bellis, 69, died peacefully on June 26, 2019, at Thompson Hospital surrounded by family. Jim is survived by his wife Joan of Penn Yan, daughters Bonnie (Clayton) Rex and Christine Bellis of Macedon, NY, and Caleb of Penn Yan, five grandchildren, and two surviving brothers. Jim was born August 1, 1949, in Canandaigua to Milford and Urania Bellis. He graduated from Canandaigua Academy in 1967, and SUNY Alfred in 1969. Jim worked at Mobil Chemical in Canandaigua as an electrical technician, but went on to wire new and older homes. Jim built his own log cabin home in 1978. Jim married Joan Fox on July 1, 1973. He grew up on a farm surrounded by animals. His interests included motorcycles, guns, and classic cars. Jim had a great love of dogs throughout his entire life, and leaves behind his spirit dog, Willie. Friends may call from 1 to 3 on Friday, July 5th, at the Fuller Funeral Home, Buffalo Street, Canandaigua, with a funeral service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or the Yates County Humane Society, Penn Yan, NY.
