Obituary of Helen B. Francis
Canandaigua- Helen (Chrisman) Francis, age 78, of Farmington, New York, died peacefully at F.F. Thompson Hospital surrounded by her loving family on September 2, 2019, after a long illness.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Daniel Francis, parents Henry and Lilian Blanche Chrisman, and Sister Elaine Cutri (Mike).
Helen is survived by her nieces Michele Bynoe-Cutri (Jeff) and Tamara Cutri, nephew Keith Cutri (Christy), and many loving family and friends.
Helen was born and raised in Canandaigua, New York. She graduated from Canandaigua Academy and SUNY Brockport, where she obtained her degree in Education. Helen went on to become a physical education teacher at Black Elementary School in Wichita, Kansas. She loved sewing and crafts, and she was a member of the Country Rose Quilt Guild in Rose Hill, Kansas.
Helen was lively and outgoing, and always showed a smile and gave a laugh to anyone she met. She cared deeply for her family and friends, and she was always involved in things that were important to others. Her sense of humor was unmatched, and her outspoken candor added to her humorous and care-free personality. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Helen’s memory to the Sands Cancer Center, 395 West Street #101, Canandaigua, New York 14424, or F.F. Thompson Hospital, 350 Parrish Street, Canandaigua, New York 14424.
A burial service and interment for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 6th at 11:00am at Woodlawn Cemetery, 130 North Pearl Street, Canandaigua, New York.
