Obituary of Susan H. Williamee
Susan (Horton) Williamee
Canandaigua- Susan Williamee passed away November 10, 2019, at the age of 70. Susie (aka: Grammy) died peacefully in her sleep.
Susie was born September 1, 1949 to the late George and Kathryn (Colegrove) Horton in Corning, NY.
She will be lovingly missed by her son, Chris (Erin Randall) Williamee, grandsons (who were the light of her life); Drew and Chase, sisters; Sandi (George) Lovell, and Dawn Misner, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Frank and Nancy Williamee, and several special nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her granddogger, Ellie and her cat, Acorn.
Already waiting for her in heaven, in addition to her parents, were her brother, Roy Horton and his wife Faith, her brother-in-law; Jerry Misner, Chris' father; Don Williamee, brother-in-law and sister in law; Richard (Dicky) and Fay Williamee, and sister-in-law; Terry Sandry.
Susie lived much of her life in Lindley, NY where she was the Town Justice for 17 years, performing weddings for over 400 couples over the years. She also worked at Corning Hospital for 39 years surrounded by some of her best friends. Now, for the past 5 years, Susie has lived with her son's family in Canandaigua where she has loved cheering on her grandsons in their sports, but not so secretly, enjoying the view from the baseball fields the most. Susie will also be remembered for her love of: eating out, sitting on the deck at Black lake, playing cards, being surrounded by loved ones, watching the Yankees and dreaming about what she would do with the money when she won the lottery. (Incidentally, we won the lottery by having her in our lives!)
Sincerest love and gratitude go out to Thompson Health's APU department for their care and dedication to Susie during her weekly visits over the past 15 months. And a special thank you to her dialysis team in Victor, especially Brenda for being her champion and friend.
The beauty of our former Miss Lawrenceville (1965) blossomed into an incomparable radiance of positivity and love for all who walked into her world. In lieu of flowers, please spread love and kindness to someone in Susie's memory…. And have an ice cream sundae!
A memorial service in her honor will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at 2:00pm at the Lindley Community Church, 9607 Morgan Creek Road, Lindley, NY 14858.
