Obituary of Dorothy M. Boyle

Dorothy Mary (Dederick) Boyle, 96, wife of the late Richard Edward Boyle, died Tuesday August 11, 2020 in the company of her family and loved ones. She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Boyle) Schlenker and her husband Thomas, Dorothy's sons Thomas Boyle, Richard P. Boyle, James Boyle and his wife Darlene. Dorothy is survived by 5 grandchildren; Susan (Schlenker) Porter and her husband Jeff Smith, Michael Schlenker and his partner Gina Rideout and her children Cody & Alexis, Wendy (Boyle) Quincy and her husband Mark, Christopher Boyle and his wife Alexandra and Thomas Boyle and his fiancée Kelsey Halloran. She is survived by 11 great-grandchildren; Cassaundra (Schlenker) Brillian and her husband Nate, Jocelyn Porter and her partner Brian Pratt, Ryan Schlenker and his wife Audrienna, Kaylan Porter and her fiancée Tori Karninsky, Madeleine Porter, Adrienne Porter, Tessa Quincy, Owen Quincy; Connor Boyle, Eric Boyle and Elene Boyle; two great-great-grandsons, Jamison and Hans Schlenker as well as many loved ones and friends. Dorothy is pre-deceased by her brother Edwin Dederick, formerly of Syracuse, NY. Dorothy was born in Syracuse, NY in 1924 and married her beloved husband and high school sweetheart Richard, also from Syracuse, in 1942. They were married for 75 years. Richard and Dorothy raised their family in many towns and cities throughout the Northeast until they retired in 1986 to "the chosen place", Canandaigua. Dorothy devoted her life to her family; her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and all of their spouses and partners. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of playing games, reading, watching movies and most importantly, spending time with the people she loved. Dorothy was a loving wife, wonderful mom and a special friend and confidante to all who knew her. She will be truly missed. A private service will be held August 29, 2020 at Saint Bridget's Catholic Church, East Bloomfield, NY.
