Obituary of Dolores L. Wallace
Dolores Lucy Wallace (Dee), 83 of Tallahassee, Florida passed into eternal rest surrounded by family on August 20, 2020
Dee was born and raised in Rochester, NY and considered herself a city girl until meeting Wally, the handsome Southern gentleman who was stationed at Sampson AFB located in Upstate New York. After a brief courtship they were married and the "city girl" and her husband moved to the country (Honeoye, NY) onto 15 acres where they built and established their home and raised their family. Dee adapted to country life and learned to hunt, fish and farm alongside her husband. The last 20+ years of her working career was spent at Thompson Memorial Hospital in Canandaigua, NY where she worked in many roles including an Operating Room Technician.
She enjoyed crocheting, going to the local Senior Center, the company of her cat (Mila) and spending time with family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was blessed in life with a loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Airman 3/c, Laudia M. Wallace, Jr. (Wally) who preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Rick) White and Betty (Kevin) Hackett; four grandchildren, Justin (Sarah) White, Christina (Dr. Matthew) Heimann, Rebecca White and Barnabas White; four great-grandchildren, Maisie, Finley, Maria and Judah whom she adored and treasured.
Friends may call Wednesday, September 2, from 11am-1pm at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A private graveside service will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in her name to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308.
