Obituary of Brian C. Walker

Saudi Arabia – Brian C. Walker, age 35, died unexpectedly of natural causes on January 1, 2021 in Saudi Arabia where he was working as a military helicopter avionics technician for Vinnell Arabia Corporation. Brian is survived by his mother Jane M. Walker (San Angelo, TX), father Charles B. Walker (Canandaigua, NY), grandmother Dolores H. Walker (Canandaigua), sisters Jessica J. Walker and Allison W. Alred (Steven), and beloved nephew Anderson Clay Alred (all San Angelo). Brian is also survived by his loving aunts, uncles cousins, many wonderful friends and of course his brother Marines. He was predeceased by his grandparents Essie R. Mitchell and William J. Mitchell (Canandaigua), and his canine companion Tyson. Brian grew up in Shortsville, NY where his love of games, sports and good times began. He graduated from Red Jacket High School in 2003 where he played varsity football and basketball. After high school Brian enlisted in the United States Marine Corps serving as a highly accomplished avionics technician for AH-1 SuperCobra attack helicopters as a member of Squadron HMLA-167, the Warriors. He deployed twice for Operation Iraqi Freedom and also for Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). He separated from the Marines in 2014 as a Sergeant. After his Marine service Brian’s avionics skills and work ethic led to a career in the private sector and his most recent job that took him to Saudi Arabia. Throughout his life Brian enjoyed playing many games and sports such as basketball, football, snow skiing, golf, shooting and fitness activities. He also enjoyed a life filled with travel including many family vacations to Myrtle Beach, and to the dozens of places he had the opportunity to visit throughout the US and the world. He especially enjoyed and looked forward to the great times, small and large, that he shared with his friends but especially with his family. Brian will be remembered as a young man who was extremely proud to be a US Marine, who served his country with valor and honor, and who valued and loved his family and friends. A funeral Mass will be held, July 31, 10 AM at St. Dominic Church, 97 West Main Street, Shortsville, NY 14548. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua. A Celebration of Life for Brian will immediately follow at Budd Park on Water Street, Shortsville.
