Obituary of Margaret L. Button

Margaret Louise Cary Button, 78, of Shortsville, NY, passed away the morning of January 13, 2021 in Hopewell, NY. Visitation will be held at Fuller Funeral home 190 Buffalo Street Canandaigua NY, Friday January 22, 4pm-6pm with services to immediately follow. A private family burial service is planned for this spring. Marge was born in Saratoga, NY to Ella and Kenneth Cary on 2/11/1942. She attended school in Colorado and graduated from South Glenn's Falls, NY. She attended Adirondack Community College, where she designed their school logo. After a year, she transferred to Mohawk Community College majoring in Graphics Art. In the fall of 1964, while at Mohawk CC she met her future husband Edwin G. Button. After raising 4 children to school age, she became a bus driver for Victor Central School where she enjoyed driving for the disabled for over 15 years. She was also a Girl Scout leader for all three of her daughter's troops. She attended Finger Lakes Community College and completed her Associates in Travel and Tourism graduating with honors in 1994. Marge was an artist in every sense of the word. She painted, sculpted, drew, cooked and sewed. Her craft room held it all. When not creating crafts or decorating cakes, Marge enjoyed raising her horses and gardening. Marge is survived by her husband of 56 years Edwin G Button and their children Edwin (Kami) Button, Kari (Harry) Coyle, Stacie Swarner and Lori Button, her grandchildren Katie, Alyssa, Henry, Devon, Meaghan and great grandchildren Jayden and Neal. She is preceded in death by her Mother, Father and Brother Ken. Memorial donations may be made to Lollypop Farm, lollypop.org. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to both the doctors, nurses and staff at both Thompson Hospital and Ontario County Rehabilitation Center.
