i was in book club with Donna at NYSIF and am truly shocked at her passing. i'm happy that she was able to retire (as we had many laughs over our work life) and hope she was able to have some sort of celebration for her retirement. we had a lot of laughs over our pets, grandkids and books that we read, had read in the past and hoped to read in the future. just thinking of her makes me smile. my deepest condolences to all her family. i hope there will be a notice when you do a celebration of life because hers is a life so deserved of celebrating.

Sorry for your loss Ruth. Cathy(Snell) Ingraham

Cathy, I think of you often. We all have been friends since small children. But on top of that friendship, I love you and respect you more, due to your help, love, and the wonderful care you gave my mother while I returned to college in 2010. Thank you Cathy.

Dear Cousin Ruthie,
I am in shock over the passing of Donna. The world is lesser without her.
I have such wonderful memories with Donna either at your home or when she
visited us on our farm. I have the best memories of her when we would ride
horses together...and falling off together :-)
Donna's smile and laugh were contagious.
Please extend my husband's, Garry, and my sincere sympathies to Mary, Billy, and other
family members.
With love, Diane

Donna had such a sense of humor and a laugh that was contagious. I enjoyed getting to know her better the last few years she lived in Shortsville. Sharing memories of our get togethers when we were kids, with cousins, Aunts and Uncles and Gramma Ruth and Grampa Bob!
So sorry, my dear Cousin Ruthie, Donna's children and her grandkids.... Hang onto those good memories!!
May God wrap his loving arms around you.. Love, Cousin Cora
Ruth Everhart Snover Posted Feb 23, 2021 at 9:29 PM
Cousin Cora, we will hang on to all our loving memories of our Donna. But I must share a memory of Donna's (& mine) with you. Donna never forgot how you came to the ICU during mom's passing and helped all the family there to participate and share our memories out loud to mom. Mom did hear us and wiggled her toes and finger's! Thank you for your love.

The term “work family” has become a phrase that has grown popular to describe interpersonal relationships with coworkers. Among our “work family” Donna was a maternal force, someone who brought people together and watched over everyone, we even called her “mama Donna” .
Donna always had a sympathetic ear, and was non-judgmental no matter what the problem. She had an amazing sense of humor and knew just what to say if you were having a bad day.
Donna took pride in her profession as a nurse, and loved to talk about where her career in nursing had taken her. While working at NYSIF most of her contact with claimants was on the phone, she developed relationships with many claimants and families and could often be heard on the phone with them, helping them get the medical care they needed after a work accident.
Donna also loved her children and grandchildren, although I never met them, I felt I knew all of them with her descriptive stories. I especially loved they way she spoke of her grandchildren, it made me look forward to being a grandmother.
Some may say she was gone too soon, but I believe she was here long enough to create great memories and bring light and laughter to our hearts

I have known Donna since 2008. I worked with her both at Monroe Developmental Center and at NYSIF.
Donna was a wonderful person. She was honest to a fault, she had a heart of gold and would give you the lunch out of her lunch bag, she was an excellent nurse and she was very funny. She would have us all rolling on the floor laughing at times.
She was great to work with. She always was helpful and never shy with offering her opinion. Donna was a veteran nurse and had an amazing wealth of knowledge. She will be very missed. Donna was a great friend and I will miss her terribly. My condolences to all of Donna's Family

My dear cousin. We were close as children and as adults we were so busy with our own families, that we lost touch. Weddings and funerals are when we saw each other. I think we could have been good friends.
May God bless your children and grands.
We have to be careful to protect our children as well and cannot attend your service in the pandemic. Our loving thoughts and prayers are with you all. Remember all the fun and joy Dear Donna had with us all.

Love to you, Kathy Raeman Schutt
