Obituary of David R. Taylor

August 4, 1942 – February 7, 2021 David (“Dave”) Taylor David Ross Taylor, 78, a longtime resident of Honeoye, NY, and more recently a summer resident of Canandaigua, NY passed away in Ocala, FL on Sunday, February 7, 2021. Born August 4, 1942, in Watertown, NY, he was the son of Russell and Wilda Taylor. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Dave is survived by daughter, Chere Taylor; son, Patrick (Linda) Taylor; brother, Dean (Connie) Taylor; sister-in-laws Lorilee (Louis) Karrat, Letecia Pimental and Sandy Hamilton; brother-in-law Ron Damon; granddaughters, Nicole Ellsmore, Rachel Taylor (Mitchell Northam), and Julia Taylor; great grandchildren, Dominic Sanders and Rhys Ellsmore; and nieces and nephews and their spouse/significant others: Jim and Karen, Elijah David and Tina, Sue and David, Paula and Randy, Leigh Robin and Todd, Jeff and Sarah, Lesley and Tim, Chris and Nancy, Jennifer and Jeff, and David. He is predeceased by his mother and father, Russell and Wilda Taylor; wife Infanta (Oyong) Taylor; sister Dawn Damon; brother-in-laws Sterling Oyong and Frank Pimental; and sister-in-laws Marjorie Taylor and Debbie Bergeron. Dave graduated from Adams Center Central School in 1959 at the age of 16, then began working for AT&T. He attended Mohawk Valley Community College where he earned his Associates in Applied Science. Dave continued his education taking night classes at the Rochester Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering while he worked at Eastman Kodak until retirement at the age of 49. After retiring, he and Fanta became snowbirds traveling to different Southern cities during the winter months before settling in Ocala, FL. Dave impacted many people in his community sharing his values, teaching hard work and good sportsmanship as a coach in Little League and Pony League baseball and Vince Lombardi football in Honeoye, NY, and was President of the School Board at Honeoye Central School until 1983. His hobbies included boating, hunting, shooting skeet, fishing, golfing at Old Hickory Golf course in Livonia, NY where he won a league championship, and woodworking. Dave was also an avid Buffalo Bills and Syracuse University basketball fan. Dave was a loving and devoted husband of 55 years to his high school sweet heart, Infanta Oyong, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a positive presence in all of their lives. His love of family gatherings, especially during the July 4th holiday on Honeoye Lake, always brought a smile to our faces and made many happy, lasting memories. We will miss him every day. An 11am memorial service will be held Saturday, June 26, at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua, NY. A celebration of his life will follow at a place to be determined.
