Obituary of Francesco D. Fiorentino

Francesco D. Fiorentino "Frank" Canandaigua- On November 7, 2021, Francesco "Frank" Fiorentino, 89, of Canandaigua joined his beloved wife, Jean, in eternal rest on the day of their 62nd wedding anniversary. Frank passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. No one believed in family more than he and it was always family first with Frank. He was full of so many great stories from his long wonderful life. Frank left quite the impression on all and will be greatly missed. Frank was the son of the late Domenick & Filomena Fiorentino. He retired in 1987 as the Chief of Maintenance and Repair in the Engineering Department at the Canandaigua Veterans Medical Center. He was a graduate of St. Mary's School and Canandaigua Academy. Frank received an A.A.S. Degree in Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). He also served 4 years (January 1951 - December 1954) in the US Air Force as Crew Chief/Staff Sergeant in the Strategic Air Command Unit (SAC). As Crew Chief, he was requested by top ranking government officials to fly on many top secret missions. Frank was predeceased by his wife Jean E. (Smith) Fiorentino. He is survived by his children, Julie Maves (TerenceHoffman), Domenic Fiorentino (Karen Maltzahn), Ellen (Matthew) Mahoney, Andrew (Jody) Fiorentino, Peter (Cinthya) Fiorentino, Michael (Melissa) Fiorentino; grandchildren, Cameron, Ryan (Marianne), Nicole Maves, Samantha Bovenzi, Sarah Fiorentino, Alexander, Maxwell, Samuel Mahoney, Jason, Marisa, Matthew Fiorentino, Mia, Kai Fiorentino, Jackson, Ryder Fiorentino; great grandchildren, Carson Maves, Cecilia Maves; siblings, Rose Tills, Filomena (Richard) Ernst, Joyce Fiorentino, Peter (Kathryn) Fiorentino, Dominick (Anne) Fiorentino; many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their thanks for the loving care that he received from his caregivers, Ms. Janet Mattison, Ms. Nichole Sciremammano, Ms. Suzanne Perry, Ms. Rose Gavett and UR Medicine Hospice. There will be a funeral mass on November 10, 2021 at 11am at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St. Canandaigua. Burial with military honors will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
