Obituary
Obituary of Richard H. Zimmer
Rick (Richard) Zimmer passed away on July 21th, 2022.
Rick was born September 7th, 1954 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to Lorraine and Richard G. Zimmer. He grew up in Webster, NY and attended Webster schools.
Rick worked at Sentry Group for over 20 years and retired from HEP Lumber in Newark. Rick was an extremely hard worker, always had a great joke to crack, and loved life.
Rick was an avid family man. He loved to entertain and cook feasts for all to enjoy. He enjoyed fishing and spending his days by the water. Rick had a passion for Harley's and even built his own 1972 Harley Davidson Shovelhead with his two sons.
Rick was predeceased by his parents Dick and Lori, his sisters Donna and Patti, and his beloved dog Toby.
Rick is survived by his children, Gina (Doug), Nick, Vincent (Magen), and Heidi. His beautiful grandchildren, Gianna, Kaiden, Madison, Mason, Angelina, Philomena, Joey, Valentina, and Zack. Rick is also survived by his brother in-law Carl Hettler and nephews Tim, Tom, and Brian.
Rick's grandchildren referred to him as Papoo, a name he took pride in creating that was unique and made them smile every time it was said. Rick loved making his grandchildren laugh which was always accomplished by his sense of humor. His passion for fishing was taught by him to his grandchildren, right off his own dock, a memory they will cherish forever.
Rick loved to make jokes and have a good time. To honor that spirit, the family will host a Celebration of Life on July 30th, 2022 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Irondequoit Bay Fish and Game Club, 658 Bay Front S, Rochester, NY 14609. The family is extending the invitation to anyone who would like to pay their respects, share a memory, and celebrate Rick. We hope to share lots of laughs and stories amongst the tears.
