Obituary of Clifford T. Payne

Clifford Thomas Payne, "Thomas", of Canandaigua, New York died Sunday, July 24th, 2022. He was 69. Thomas was born November 3, 1952, in Clifton Springs, New York to Doris Payne and the late Wesley Thomas Payne. Upon graduating from High School, Thomas was awarded a full academic scholarship to study music at Ithaca College. He chose to decline it to pursue other endeavors, of which there were many. Thomas was a self-proclaimed "Jack of all trades, master of none." Being entrepreneurial, his careers included but were not limited to, restaurateur, writer, stockbroker, movie producer, carpenter and finally and most passionately sustainable farming. Thomas was a brilliant and talented musician with a charismatic personality. He leaves behind a legacy through his children who have followed their passions, traveled and experienced life in a way which made him happy and proud. He is survived by his mother, Doris Payne; six children, Daniel (Kelly) Payne, Seth (Brandi) Payne, Kara (Brian) Leftwich, Jennifer (Kevin) McCartney, Chrystie Payne and Terra Payne; one stepson, Thomas Beal; several grandchildren including, Alex Payne, Samantha Leftwich, Eli Leftwich, Wesley McCartney, Owen McCartney, Wesley Payne, Neve Payne and Taylor Payne; one brother, Charles Payne; one sister, Janice Burkhart; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. The celebration of life for C. Thomas Payne will be held Tuesday, August 2nd from 11am-1pm at Victor Municipal Park, 6680 Paparone Dr. Victor, NY.
