Obituary of Dorothy M. LaBrake

DOROTHY M. LA BRAKE of Canandaigua, NY passed away, in her sleep, on October 5, 2022. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She is survived by her 4 sisters who live in North Carolina Mary Jordan, Elsie Harrell, Betti Lowe, and Carol Jean Koutsky, also one brother Everett Sadler. Dorothy was born in Canandaigua, NY on November 23,1932. She was then raised in Penn Yan and graduated from Penn Yan High School. From High School she went on to Morrisville College to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Dorothy worked many years at Thompson Hospital and the Ontario County Health Facility. After those years, she became a private duty nurse in individual's homes. Dorothy was the proud mother of Three daughters MaryEllen Inglesby (shorty)(Paul)Canandaigua, Karen Roaix, Canandaigua, and Donna Jo Elling (Greg) Ovid and one Son, Charles La Brake (Sue) Rochester. Also, Six Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Dorothy was proceeded by her twin brother Donald Millerd, husband Donald La Brake, Mother Leona Millerd Sadler, and stepfather Claude Sadler. Dorothy was a longtime volunteer of the Canandaigua Volunteer Ambulance Squad, Crystal Beach Fire Department, American Cancer Society, her church, The United Presbyterian Baptist Church on the corner of Main and Gibson St in Canandaigua and many years as a Den Mother in the Boy Scout program.
